When you see Foxfire in concert, their mammoth, six-hundred watt "wall of bass" will knock the wind out of you…and Stephen has the chops and experience that make you come back for more! He’s played in such notable bands as Pickman’s Model, Plaster, and Qualone; he’s played shows with Nebula, Raging Slab, Spirit Caravan, Fireball Ministry, Bottom, Zoroaster, Bongzilla, and Super Heavy Goat Ass; he was a guest bassist on grammy-winner Killer Mike’s debut CD on Sony Records, entitled Monster; and if that’s not enough, he's also spent time in the company of Atlanta’s own self-proclaimed "King", rapper Clifford "T. I." Harris.
How’s that for street cred?
Stoner Punk Rock
If you're like most people, you just have one question:
What exactly is "Stoner Punk Rock"?
Well, you've come to the right place. Foxfire and Sludge Hammer Records have the lock on Stoner Punk Rock, and we can tell you pretty unequivocally what it is. Stoner Punk Rock starts with equal parts: grinding guitars that cut like chainsaws; solid, in-your-face drums; huge, mind-numbing bass; and powerful, gritty/sweet vocals. Once you have the ingredients in place, they easily coalesce into a myriad of tunes that are sometimes doom-filled and sludgey (like Black Sabbath or Saint Vitus), sometimes fast and energetic (like Joan Jett or The Donnas), but always loud and heavy (like Blue Cheer or Grand Funk). Present those tunes via high-energy, kick-ass performances where everybody has a good time, and then add the secret ingredient—fun!—and you’ve got yourself some serious Stoner Punk Rock. For an example of this in action, check out Atlanta’s FOXFIRE, the ultimate Stoner Punk Rock band...you will like what you see!!
