What would it sound like if Queens Of The Stone Age, Grand Funk, AC/DC, and The Runaways all met up in a dark alley with lots of wattage?

The answer is simple:

~ FOXFIRE!! ~

Foxfire has played shows with great bands like Dixie Witch, Throttlerod, Lust, Backwoods Payback, Gore Gore Girls, Catfight, The Dumps, Black Tusk, Christine, and many others. In Atlanta they’ve played a strip club (the world-famous Clermont Lounge), a Rollergirls benefit, a community festival at historic Findley Park in Little Five Points, a biker festival in Underground Atlanta, and many of the clubs that bands like Mastodon, Nashville Pussy, and Artimus Pyledriver played (and still play) when they were on their way up. Additionally, they have played in Athens GA; Chattanooga, Johnson City, and Bristol TN; Wilmington and Greensboro NC; and Spartanburg SC. Their music has been described as “stoner punk rock”, with straightforward riffs and a distinct, loud ‘n heavy power trio sound. Rachel’s gritty/sweet vocals are the perfect complement to her grinding guitar and the driving rhythm section of bassist Stephen and his wife Kris (who also sings) on drums. Their no-nonsense live performances are always high-energy and fun, and the band leaves the crowd wanting more, every time. Nobody has a bad time at a Foxfire show!

Rachel Collins - Guitar, Vocals

Rachel is the creative impetus behind Foxfire, pulling influences from her Appalachian family history (not only did she grow up on the original Rocky Top--Signal Mountain, just outside of Chattanooga--she grew up surrounded by bluegrass...two of her uncles are in a bluegrass band called The Dismembered Tennesseans) and the rock and roll, punk rock, and hard rock that has inspired her all of her life. This is her first performing band, but she immediately seems at home with any audience--whether she's leading the band in a fist-shaking anthem or sludging them through a thick, doomy, brain-melting sonic assault. Her powerful vocals command attention, while her guitar tone rips like a chainsaw...all the while standing on the solid foundation that is the Foxfire rhythm section.

Kris Hale - Drums, Vocals

A high school advanced-placement world history teacher by day, and a hard-rockin' drummer by night, Kris plays 'em like she means business. Sometimes she sings a lead vocal, sometimes a back-up vocal...but she's always bringing the rhythm home. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, Kris has been involved in music all of her life--from booking bands like Fugazi and Scream to play DIY shows in Madison, to photographing roll after roll of great live shots for bands like Down, Mastodon, and High On Fire, and now to being the rhythmic anchor in Foxfire, Kris is quite familiar with what a great show should be…and that’s what she brings to Foxfire.

Stephen Carrington - Bass, Vocals

When you see Foxfire in concert, their mammoth, six-hundred watt "wall of bass" will knock the wind out of you…and Stephen has the chops and experience that make you come back for more! He’s played in such notable bands as Pickman’s Model, Plaster, and Qualone; he’s played shows with Nebula, Raging Slab, Spirit Caravan, Fireball Ministry, Bottom, Zoroaster, Bongzilla, and Super Heavy Goat Ass; he was a guest bassist on grammy-winner Killer Mike’s debut CD on Sony Records, entitled Monster; and if that’s not enough, he's also spent time in the company of Atlanta’s own self-proclaimed "King", rapper Clifford "T. I." Harris.

How’s that for street cred?

Stoner Punk Rock

If you're like most people, you just have one question:

What exactly is "Stoner Punk Rock"?

Well, you've come to the right place. Foxfire and Sludge Hammer Records have the lock on Stoner Punk Rock, and we can tell you pretty unequivocally what it is. Stoner Punk Rock starts with equal parts: grinding guitars that cut like chainsaws; solid, in-your-face drums; huge, mind-numbing bass; and powerful, gritty/sweet vocals. Once you have the ingredients in place, they easily coalesce into a myriad of tunes that are sometimes doom-filled and sludgey (like Black Sabbath or Saint Vitus), sometimes fast and energetic (like Joan Jett or The Donnas), but always loud and heavy (like Blue Cheer or Grand Funk). Present those tunes via high-energy, kick-ass performances where everybody has a good time, and then add the secret ingredient—fun!—and you’ve got yourself some serious Stoner Punk Rock. For an example of this in action, check out Atlanta’s FOXFIRE, the ultimate Stoner Punk Rock band...you will like what you see!!
